Wolfy, Thurgood Ladies Hoops Look For City League 3-Peat, Lengthy Run This Year

Wolfy, Thurgood Ladies Hoops Look For City League 3-Peat, Lengthy Run This Year

With the season starting, one of the more experienced teams with a great chance to make a tournament run is the Thurgood Marshall Lady Cougars.

With 3 upper tier hoopers in Morganne Postell, Samara Gibson and Mikayla Williams, the Lady Cougars have 3 bonafide All-District hoopers who should have a major impact this season.

The Lady Cougars, led by Duane Wolfy Hutchinson, have won the Dayton Public City League title the last two seasons, as they was undefeated 2 years ago (8-0) and was 9-1 last year, as Meadowdale tied the Lady Cougars for the top spot.

It will be a battle this season, as Meadowdale has some weaponry of their own.

But Hutchinson is ready, and wants to send his four seniors out on top.

"Our seniors want to go out on top and we are gonna do whatever we can to make that happen as a team." We want to 3-peat and make a run in the OHSAA Tournament. We got a taste of that success last year, and we want more of that." Hutchinson would state.

With a few underclassmen who will be factors, look for another banner season with the Lady Cougars.

In their first city league game they will face Meadowdale at home, which should be a great atmosphere tonight.
