Wolverines Set to Kickoff OHSAA Football Season Tonight With Powell Back at the Helm
The Dunbar Wolverines will strap the helmets on, and with a familiar face running the team, will open up the OHSAA Football season tonight vs Cincinnati Hughes.
Darran Powell, the former Wolverine coach in the mid to late 2010s, has been re-hired to lead the football program, after a 6-year hiatus.
Powell was a assistant coach last year for Dunbar, and now will resume as head coach after previous head coach Lacking stepped down.
Before Powell left, he had the Wolverines at a high level, as they were battling the likes of Earl White and the Belmont Bison for City League titles. He also led the Wolverines to a tourney win in his last season.
While the Wolverines are in rebuild mode, expect to see some fireworks from Dunbar.
