MEADOWDALE LEGEND LANDS COACHING JOB FOR BEARCATS; KNOX SET TO WORK WITH WOMENS BASKETBALL TEAM

MEADOWDALE LEGEND LANDS COACHING JOB FOR BEARCATS; KNOX SET TO WORK WITH WOMENS BASKETBALL TEAM

Carlos Knox, one of the greatest players to play for Meadowdale HS and Dayton Public Schools,  has agreed to become an Assistant Coach at the University of Cincinnati women’s basketball team for the upcoming season.

Knox, who was at North Texas the last few seasons, decided that this was a chance he could not pass up. “I’m excited for the opportunity to come back to Ohio and do what I love to do.” Knox stated.

Knox was one of the best players to ever play in Dayton Public Schools history as he led the Lions to a state ranking and unprecedented success during his junior and senior seasons. He was an all-city and all state performer before going to IUPUI and starring there as well.

Knox would eventually get on a NBA roster, playing for the Indiana Pacers at one time. Despite not being able to last in the NBA, Larry Bird, one of the greatest players in NBA history, gave a amazing review on Knox on his game, which helped Knox get other pro deals.

Knox had a Steph Curry - type release on his shot with a Iverson like crossover in his game. He was a feared offensive player and set multiple scoring records on his way to a Hall of Fame career at Indiana University-Purdue University of Indianapolis. Most experts and basketball minds think that if the NBA wasn’t so rigid on how tall players had to be for certain spots back in the late 90's and 2000’s?

Knox would have made the NBA. Easy.

His skill set was that good. Now Knox, who has been coaching with the likes of the Indiana Fever, North Texas and other teams, embraces the challenge of making college kids better. “I’m looking forward to joining the Bearcats staff and making a difference” Knox said.

Knox has joined the staff for the 2020-21 season, whenever that will start, due to the Covid-19 that has shut down the entire country.

Knox will tell the story of how he got to Cincinnati on the S.E.Live365 Show on Fox Sports Dayton on Sunday morning (8-10 AM)
