 Highest Scoring HS Game of All Time To Be Honored Tonight;

Depsite Car Accident, Clark Will Host Festivities

By Deon Cash

30 years ago the Sidney Yellow Jackets and the Colonel White Cougars met on a Saturday afternoon in Dayton, Ohio.

What ensued in the Cougar Dome that day has still never been broken, as the state ranked Cougars defeated the high speed Yellow Jackets by a score of 130-123 in a high school varsity hoop game.

While the game of basketball has changed dramatically across the globe, the record still stands firm in the OHSAA record books at #1.

Tonight the former head coach of the Sidney Yellow Jackets (Tom Clark) will bring both teams together to celebrate the historic day over 30 years ago.

During the West Carrollton-Sidney game, at halftime, both teams willl be honored.

They will meet and greet pre-game, and watch the Pirates - Yellow Jackets game afterwards. Then they will be honored at halftime with the two teams going to watch the game in the 4th quarter.

"Its truly a honor to be respected by two other organizations when you break a record like this. Coach Clark has always been 1st class."

         Deon Cash, former Cougar player stated.

"And for Coach Parker to let us do this during his game, its just major respect from the Cougar alumni. We really appreciate it. While it wasn't a state championship, it still stands after 30 years."

After the game it was like, "Did we just score 130 points? It was astounding to think about."

Coach Clark came to Dayton 24-7 as he and former 93' hoopers Gavin Cathcart and Jarred Vordemark talked about the historic day on S.E.Live365 podcast along with other topics.
