Davis Heads To Wright State as Raiders Land Former Trotwood Star

Amari Davis Leaves Missouri, Headed To Wright State

Amari Davis is heading home to finish his college career after deciding to play for Wright State, per the reports.

Davis, who had tranferred to Missouri after dominating at Wisconsin GB, decided to enter the transfer portal after Missouri head coach Cuonzo Martin had stepped down after one season.

Davis would average almost 10ppg, but never really could get fully acclimated in the system, although he had some very good games during the season, including a perfect shooting night in a win.

Once Cleveland State Coach Gates would get the job and bring in his recruits, Davis decided to jump back in the portal.

After a couple of discussions between Raiders coaches, Davis, and his team, the decision was made.

Davis would decide to come back to Wright State.

This comes right after the signing of Star guard Anthony Johnson of Fairmont.

Since the hiring of assistant coach Travis Trice, it seems that the Raiders have taken the advice of some of the media and consensus and started looking the local way.

In the era of the "Transfer Portal" it will be paramount to keep a eye and start grabbing the local talent, and the Raiders have done a good job so far of realizing that after losing 3 of their players to the portal after winning their first NCAA tournament game in Raider history.

"I'm excited to come back home to finish my career." Davis said.

Davis was a All State performer and HS champion 4 years ago at Trotwood HS.
