Chaminade Hammers Fenwick, Moves To 5-2 on Coach White Birthday

Chaminade Hammers Fenwick, Moves To 5-2 on Coach White Birthday During Homecoming Weekend

The Chaminade-Julienne Eagles had took a tough loss to the chin last week, and was humbled after a winning streak had pushed them to 4-1.

Fenwick had lost a tough one to Badin as well, so both teams were 4-2 coming in to a big Thursday Night Lights matchup.

Which team would rise to the occasion?

It would be C-J, as they would punish Fenwick with the ground game and the defense causing turnovers to a tune of 48-20.

It was Eagles head coach Earl White birthday on top of that.

"We wanted to set the tone." Coach White would say after the game.

And that they did, as they would amass a 60-yard run on the opening play, and wouldn't stop until they had put up a 35 spot at half (35-7). The running game amassed over 200 yards in the 1st half alone.

After C-J took a 7-0 lead Fenwick would throw a interception in Eagles territory,  which Chaminade would turn into a TD.

Then Fenwick would fumble on the next series, and C-J would score again, and at the end of the 1st quarter it was 21-0.

Fenwick would fumble again, which Chaminade would recover, and score again to make it 28-0 before Fenwick would finally get on the board with a TD of their own to make it 28-7.

Chaminade would score one more time, late in the 2nd half to push it to 35-7 at half.

With the win, Coach White now has the Eagles in prime position for a playoff berth with 3 games remaining. They sit at 5-2 with Carroll, Badin and Alter rounding out the regular season.

Fenwick falls to 4-3 and despite having a host of players out due to injury, will look to turn it around next week.

It was Homecoming for the Eagles and they were in full force for the festivities on a perfect night weather wise (high 60's, no breeze, no rain).
